Where is Spokane

Tirbe DetailsSpokane is located in the eastern portion Washington, close to the Idaho border. Tshimakain Creek Labs is located in Spokane Valley, just east of Spokane, while the administrative office for Tshimakain Creek Labs is located in Wellpinit, approximately 31 miles northwest as the crow flies on the Spokane Indian Reservation. Tshimakain Creek forms the eastern boundary between the Spokane Indian Reservation and the State of Washington.

The Spokane People lived along the Spokane River, which flows from Lake Coeur d'Alene to the Columbia River. When the Spokane Indian Reservation was formed in 1881, there were three bands of Spokanes that moved from their lands along the river to the final stretch of the river between Tshimakain Creek and the Columbia River.
